The wide, sandy beach behind Island Cuisine outdoor restaurant in Pa‘ia will be the site of this three-day, earth-friendly community event. It’s happening on Mother’s Day weekend. On Friday, May 9 there will be opening ceremonies with live performances and raffle prizes, from 5 to 10 p.m.. On Saturday, May 10, from 7 a.m. to noon, there will be a bike tour/workshop and yoga and pilates demonstrations, and on Sunday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. you can treat yourself or someone else to $5 spa therapies for moms on Mother’s Day.
This is an event for the benefit of our community and small businesses in the Upcountry area that are associated with the enhancement of our planet and of the human body. Event organizer Mishel Narvaez, owner of Maui Ocean Spa in Pa‘ia, said, “Everyone that has a similar vision of healing the community and educating our youth, and anyone wanting to contribute their beliefs or professional services to help increase positive global health is welcome.” She explained, “I had been searching for a place to have this event for over two years now. It has always been my goal to teach my kids as much as possible about how to make a choice to be happy. We must look for alternatives when the choices we make aren’t beneficial to ourselves or to our environment. And sometimes just being happy isn’t as easy as it should be.
“I’m doing this event to spread the news about global healing and the importance of educating our kids... and if we can work on healing ourselves, we can have the strength to teach and heal our children whenever possible. I truly want to bring people together more and promote global healing, and give back and make a positive difference in my community. This event is to encourage our children to appreciate alternative healing therapies, their education, and working towards global healing.
“They are our future leaders.”
