The Maui County Commission on Culture and the Arts invites participation in Culture and Arts Day on April 12, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Maui Mall. The organizers are urging interested groups and individuals to sign up. Those who would like to participate by having a display booth showcasing their art or cultural activity should contact Albert Molina at 244-5489.

Music and dance performers should call John Hilt at 298-3698 to sign up. Nominations are being taken for one person in the community to be honored for his or her contributions to arts and culture in Maui County. Contact Elaine Slavinsky at 242-8636.

The celebration coincides with the Maui County Sister Cities 2008 Young Artist Showcase “A Reflection of Your Community” artwork submitted by young Maui artists 13-18 years of age.
